Introducing the Ram 1500 - Special Service Edition

Chrysler has created another intimidating vehicle for our boys in blue. That's right, if you thought the Dodge Charger was a scary sight in your rearview, be sure to get out of the way for the all new Ram 1500 Crew Cab outfitted with a "Special Service" package.
The Ram 1500 that Chrysler created for their fleet sales program is very different than the one you'll find at Papa's Chrysler Jeep Dodge. This version's "Special Service" package includes a 220-amp alternator and 115-volt power outlet in the dash to support electronic accessories and computers. The "power distribution center" assists with camera, computer and other technological systems operations. The doors are reinforced with bullet proof inserts and the truck can be ordered with special RamBox storage compartments in the sides of the beds.
A 390-hp, 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine powers the rugged truck. However, as with most emergency vehicles, the engine spends a lot of time idling during emergency calls. So Chrysler included a large oil cooler to protect against idling and stop-and-go operations as well as a special meter that tracks the hours the engine is left running.
Right now, the vehicle is only intended for use by police forces, though all of these enhancements make it a perfect truck as a fleet vehicle for fire departments, emergency services and maybe even at airports. Fred Diaz, CEO of Ram Truck says, "Like the Ram Truck brand, first responders give it their all with guts and glory, and we're proud to offer a Ram truck that gives them the reliability and durability to get to the scene quickly and safely."1
It's not likely that you'll find the Ram 1500 Special Services truck at Papa's Chrysler Jeep Dodge, but you will find all that power and many other impressive features in any new Ram truck in our showroom. If you'd like to learn more about a particular model, stop in and see us at 585 E Main Street New Britain, CT 06051, or contact us via our website and we'll get right back to you.
