Dodge Will Replace Caravan with Crossover in 2014

Dodge recently announced plans to add a new crossover to their lineup. Unfortunately, to make room for the new model, Dodge had to remove a longstanding favorite from showrooms around the country. That's right, say goodbye to the Dodge Grand Caravan. After 2013, a new Dodge model will take its place.
Parent company, Chrysler, has cited several reasons for this decision, including sales projections that show that there's a higher demand for crossovers than minivans. Another reason, according to CEO Sergio Marchionne, is that the Grand Caravan is very similar to the Chrysler Town & Country. He says, quite simply, "We cannot have the same type of vehicle in the showroom because the consumer is not stupid."1
Official word from the auto maker is that the new crossover will launch in 2014. They hope to see minivan loyalists stick to the Chrysler Town & Country while the new crossover will give former van owners the reliability and space they're looking for with a "sporty" edge.
That said, if you've been a minivan purist since the Grand Caravan first hit the streets in 1984, there are still some left here at Papa's Dodge. We're conveniently located at 585 E. Main Street New Britain, CT 06051, and we're happy to show you all of the innovations Dodge has recently made to the popular minivan; including increased fuel-efficiency, a higher performing engine, and class-leading handling.
